Utility flares are one of the most common and basic flare systems. Utility flares are employed in applications which do not require smokeless burning or in applications where smokeless flaring can be achieved without the use of an additional assist medium (I.e. For burning of lighter gases). Utility flares therefore, do not require auxiliary gas streams or assist air; two mediums normally used to improve smokeless capacity.
These flares are typically accompanied by a Flare Industries Dynamic Seal in the base of the tip to reduce purge gas costs and prevent flashback. Additionally, a stainless steel flame retention ring is designed to prevent flame lift off. Available in standard sizes from 3 in. x 20 ft. all the way to 12 in. x 60 ft. with capacities from 1.77 to 27.14 MMSCFD or custom/semi-custom sizes for flows outside the stated range.
